August Kerckhoffs: the father of PC security 1883 (2024)

February, 1883: August Kerckhoffs, a language specialist and professor of German at HEC, distributed an article in the Diary of Military Science that was to stand out forever. Without acknowledging it, Kerckhoff had established the groundworks for current cryptography, which was to make him generally perceived as the dad of all PC security. At first applied to broadcasts, "Kerckhoffs' principle" announced the meaning of the vital in the creation of algorithms. At the end of the day, it is thanks to this man that we use passwords and pin codes today!
